Evaluation.

What is a green screen? A green screen is a sheet of cloth that can be used as a back drop which is used to effects onto films, for example the news uses a green screen for the weather, and other segments. also used in Hollywood movies.
How does it work? :The magic of video effects and technology, allows you to superimpose the subjects onto a virtual backgrounds, and place them over a animated digital backdrop or teleport them to a  desert oasis, or  shrink down a full-grown man and turn him the size of an ant, you could use  visual effects to make him fly about in the sky like a superman or you could simply simulate your own TV weather report.

We where asked to make a 30-40 seconds long video of anything using the green screen. Me, Leah, and Yasmine, made a video of a quick pokemon battle.

What tools did you use? The tools we used where Ultra key which allowed us to alter the green screen. It also aloowed us to choke and soften the image put onto the green screen. Choke makes the image sharper and soften edits the edges.
What was the stages to creating a green screen? I used the ultrakey which had a pippette option which we used to select the green screen, after that we added the images to the green screen, the we choked and soften the images untill they where at what we thought looked best. We also added effects like dip to white and dip to white, Cross fade(sound effects transion)

What I liked about the project was pretty much everything the group of people I worked with where amazing and helpful and we did well making the project. The fact I did the project with my friends made it more enjoyable because we where serious about completing the project but we still maeged to make it fun and do silly things along the way, we managed to complete the project before the deadline.

I think It could have smoother and a wider variety of transition between scenes (but couldn't be helped we worked with what we had.) We could also of made the green screen less crinkled because in some scenes although small you can see the folds of the green screen where it wasn't flatened, which also caused shadows to appear.

For the sounde effects we got sound clips from youtube and put them onto the Youtube converter turning them into mp3files so we could use them.

Editing green screen

The first thing we did was make a skeleton edit, which is a rough layout of video clips. Then we started to add transitions such as dip to black and dip to white, we also tried to use cross dissolve but in the end decided not to.

The next step was to put the video clips to the top channel on the interface, and then add our green screen background images underneath. After we had done this we had to go on to video effects, keying and then selecting ultra key. We then used the pipet to click on the green screen so that we could make the color green, this allows to put the background image on to the green screen.

The ultra key tool included two editing options called choke and soften. Choke sharpens the background image, and soften controls the edges.

Idea

The Plan is to do a Pokemon skit where one-three people get into a Pokemon battle with a horde of Pokemon and fight them with our Pokemon.

Prop list:
Pokemon Teddies
Pokeballs
Pokemon related clothing: Pikachu hoodie

We will be including Non-diagetic sounds for when we do the battle sound effects.E.g. Pokemon attacks and voices.

Special effects that will be used for showing the attacks e.g. if we used Pikachu it will show a lightning bolt when it uses it thunder/lighting attacks.
